Fuzzy Airflow-Based Active Structural Control of Integrated Oscillating Water Columns for the Enhancement of Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Stabilization

This paper presents the modeling and stabilization of a floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) using oscillating water columns (OWCs) as active structural control. The novel concept this work is to design new FOWT platform ITI Energy barge with incorporated OWCs at opposite sides tower, in order alleviate unwanted system oscillations. provide necessary opposing forces bending moment upon tower waves platform. However, have be synchronized tilting which will ensured by proposed fuzzy airflow control strategy. Using pitch angle, opens valve one side closes other accordingly. Results simulation comparison standard PID-based show efficiency its superiority decrease pitching top fore-aft displacement.
